The meaning of the word truth extends from honesty, good faith, and sincerity in general, to agreement with fact or reality in particular.[1] The term has no single definition about which a majority of professional philosophers and scholars agree, and various theories of truth continue to be debated. There are differing claims on such questions as what constitutes truth; how to define and identify truth; the roles that revealed and acquired knowledge play; and whether truth is subjective, relative, objective, or absolute. This article introduces the various perspectives and claims, both today and throughout history. for full reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truth Lying is typically used to refer to deceptions in oral or written communication.[citation needed] Deception, such as disguises or forgeries, are generally not considered lies, though the underlying intent may be the same. However, even a true statement can be considered a lie if the person making that statement is doing so to deceive. In this situation, it is the intent of being untruthful rather than the truthfulness of the statement itself that is considered. How can the person prove that what he or she said is the truth? Now why did i write that last question? Because that is the question that i have been asked in the past half a year, and right now, i am questioning another person. Apparently, i have no found an answer to my question, although there are a few answers "use your actions to prove it", or "just do what you have to do, and the truth will come to light", somehow, things just does not seem to work that way. There are much things that we have to do, unfortunately. I assume most of you would know the story of the boy who cried wolf. If you don't know, here's a short summary. There was once a boy who lived on a farm. Everyday, he would bring the village's sheep to gaze. One day, as he was feeling bored, he decided to play a prank on the village, so he ran around and cried out "WOLF! WOLF!" The villagers panicked, while some of the stronger men took weapons to fight the wolf. And that went on to the next day, and the next, until the villagers did not take any more notice. On the 4th day, a wolf really came. The boy cried out in the village "WOLF! WOLF!" But none of the villagers heed to his cry. In the end, most of the village's sheep died, because nobody believed what the boy said. The moral of the story? Don't tell lies. It's better to tell the truth from the beginning so that people will believe you to the end. Ok, so something else is bothering me as well. I just thought of it while talking to Hengyue, so maybe i should just write it down. I hate, hate, and still hate last minute information. If it's sudden changes to make me happy, i don't mind, but PUHLEESE...there are times when i need to plan my schedule or make arrangements and therefore need information in advance. If somehow there are last minute cancellations or postpone of appointments, i HOPE there is a valid reason. Otherwise, you're just wasting my time when i could be at home doing other things to entertain myself, or going out with others. So i think that is all i have to say. For today's events, SPSS test was quite ok. NSSC work was slacking, coz i din do much, didn't noe how to do anyway. Shucks...better buck up myself. Imran even called me to ask me to work tmr from 3-5pm even though i was working at T2248 from 12-1pm. So i agreed...haha. And wai keong happened to work then, hehheh...can bully liao. WHOO! =X ok...done for now. Till next time... PROMOTING RAPHAEL'S THE RAFATS MAGIC SHOW!!
1st thing is about truths and lies.
So yea, this is a common issue faced by 100% of the people in the world, or you can say the world of truth and lies. Why 100%? Unless you are the one person that doesn't tell any lie or say any truths. Even so, how much difference can you make to that 100%? 0.0000001 multiply by 10 to the power of -10million?? (riiiggghhhttt........it will just be equivalent to the value 0 in mathematical terms.)
Then what is the meaning of the truth? And, what is the meaning of lies?
1st, the truth.2nd, the lies.
A lie (also called prevarication), is a type of deception in the form of an untruthful statement, especially with the intention to deceive others, often with the further intention to maintain a secret or reputation, protect someone's feelings or to avoid a punishment. To lie is to state something that one knows to be false or that one has not reasonably ascertained to be true with the intention that it be taken for the truth by oneself or someone else. A liar is a person who is lying, who has previously lied, or who tends by nature to lie repeatedly.
